Reading Buddies is a reading enrichment program for children in grades 1-3, pairing a trained teen Big Buddy with a struggling young reader.
Little Buddies
Applications for the Spring session open in January.
Reading Buddies is not a tutoring service. Please attend all scheduled meetings.
You will need a Douglas County Libraries library card. Get a card if you don’t already have one.
Upon acceptance to the Reading Buddies program, your Little Buddy will be paired with a Big Buddy, a teen library volunteer who is trained to read with kids in a way that helps encourage a love of reading.
Space is limited and your participation in the program is not guaranteed until all applications have been reviewed and we have been able to match your child with a Teen Big Buddy volunteer.
Big Buddies
